Op. Dr. Görkem Çalışkan was born in İzmit on October 24, 1982. He completed his primary education at İhsaniye Primary School and continued his middle school education at Gölcük Anatolian High School. After completing high school at Çanakkale Science High School, he won the Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2001 and continued his education in Ankara. After graduating from the medical faculty in 2007, he won the Hacettepe General Surgery Department in the TUS (Medical Specialty Examination) and worked as a resident for 10 months. Being impressed by the plastic surgery department he got to know during his residency, he resigned from general surgery, took the TUS again, and in the meantime performed his compulsory service in Hakkari. After TUS, he won the İzmir Atatürk Training and Research Hospital Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Clinic, started his training in 2009, and earned his specialty in 2014.
After his specialization, he continued to work at Muş State Hospital and later at Turgutlu State Hospital. Throughout his educational life, he participated in many studies and published papers at congresses. He is currently continuing his work in his own plastic surgery clinic.
