How Does the Rhinoplasty Process Work with Op. Dr. Görkem Çalışkan?
The surgery takes an average of 2-3 hours. Op. Dr. Görkem Çalışkan chooses the most appropriate of the “Open” or “Closed” techniques according to the structure of your nose. During this procedure, bone and cartilage structures are reshaped.
The operation is performed under general anesthesia, and you only need to stay in the hospital for 1 night. Contrary to popular belief, there is very little pain after surgery. These mild pains easily pass with simple painkillers.
How Long is the Recovery Process and Return to Daily Life?
After the surgery, perforated silicone tampons that do not prevent you from breathing and a protective splint are placed in your nose. These are usually removed completely painlessly by Dr. Görkem Çalışkan after 1 week.
It is normal to have slight swelling or bruising for the first few days, and this passes quickly. Most of our patients can comfortably return to their desk jobs and social lives within 7-10 days. It takes about 6 months to 1 year for the nose to get rid of edema and take its full shape.
Are Breathing Problems Solved Together with Aesthetics?
Absolutely yes. Aesthetics and function cannot be considered separately. If there are bone curvatures (deviations) or meat growths (concha hypertrophy) inside your nose that make it difficult for you to breathe, these are also permanently corrected during the aesthetic operation. Will There Be a Scar After Rhinoplasty?
Since all incisions are made from inside the nostrils in the closed technique, no scar is visible from the outside.
